SUMMARY VALUATIONS
AVJB issued summary valuations to a sample of properties within East, North and South Ayrshire.
In order to obtain feedback we also enclosed questionnaires. The main purpose of the questionnaire was to gauge if the issue of such valuations should become standard practice at future Revaluations.
The analysis of the returns has now been completed and is set out below :-

Comments made by the Recipients of the Summary Valuations
An excellent idea
Any initiative which improves the exchange of information between the parties involved is welcome. We look forward to seeing this Pilot Scheme extended to cover all areas and property types in the future
We really only need to know if the value is changing
Couldn’t find the current rateable value on the web-site
Excellent idea, takes some of the fog away. Great web-site
The information may reduce the need to lodge appeals in order to confirm the details are correct
The issue of summary valuations for future Revaluations depends on the cost. Double the paperwork – double the cost?

Excellent idea – should be expanded to cover all valuations – should be sent out with Revaluation Notices
Felt was a very basic introduction and explanation
Waste of time and money
It confirms the assessment of rates. It prepares you better financially
Open and transparent governance and taxation demands this sort of initiative
Don’t know what the varying sales areas are
Don’t see the point as no appeal can be considered until Revaluation Notice is received
Very helpful, clear and easy to use the web-site
Could not access previous rateable value. Links between sites did not give any more information – a waste of my time!
I don’t think this is necessary
Certainly a good idea, in line with England
Accessing the web-site is too time consuming for us
